On August 25, 2020, Marisol Martinez, a 33-year-old woman from Austin, was found shot to death in her black Ford Expedition parked on Interstate 35 North near the Walmart Distribution Center in New Braunfels, Texas. The incident occurred around 2:50 a.m., and shortly after, Sacramento Martinez, a 32-year-old man who had previously been in a relationship with Marisol and had a protective order issued against him, was identified as the suspect.
