In the early evening hours of a cold Monday in St. Louis, Missouri, a dispute turned deadly, forever altering the lives of those connected to Michael Pankins. On February 9, 2015, the 48-year-old African-American man was involved in an altercation with two other men in the 4500 block of North Kingshighway Boulevard. The argument escalated with shocking suddenness when one of the men produced a firearm.
