On June 29, 2012, 24-year-old Manny Amaya was shot and killed in a gang-related incident in North Long Beach, California. The shooting took place around 7:30 p.m. near 67th Street and Butler Avenue. Amaya and another man were approached by a suspect on foot, who exchanged words with them before opening fire. Amaya was struck multiple times in both the upper and lower body, while the other victim, a 30-year-old man, was shot in the lower body but survived.
