Haven Hailey Trevino, a 19-year-old woman from Lubbock, Texas, tragically passed away on November 12, 2020. She was a loving mother to her young son, Ezra, and was known for her vibrant personality and radiant laugh. Haven had recently made the courageous decision to leave her abusive ex-boyfriend, Isaiah Mesa, and was planning a new life for herself and her son.
On the day of her death, Haven was shot by Isaiah Mesa outside her workplace, Orlando's Italian Restaurant on Indiana Avenue.
She was immediately transported to a local hospital, but despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. Isaiah Mesa was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Haven's family has since been dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and supporting other victims. They established the "Helping Hands of Haven" foundation to honor her memory and provide assistance to women in need. The foundation has made multiple donations to women's shelters and continues to advocate for domestic abuse victims.
The tragic loss of Haven Trevino has left a lasting impact on her family and community, but her legacy lives on through the efforts of her loved ones to help others in similar situations.
