The incident occurred during an argument with his 42-year-old son, Damien Montague Roberts. According to reports, the argument escalated when Roberts struck Thierry, causing him to become unconscious. Roberts then retrieved a handgun from a bedroom and shot his father multiple times.
Following the shooting, Roberts attempted to escape custody by pushing through deputies but
was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree murder and third-degree attempted escape from custody while confined. Roberts is currently awaiting further legal proceedings.
