On June 28, 2015, Cartez Johnson, a 20-year-old Black male from St. Louis, Missouri, was found fatally shot in the 6000 block of Suburban Avenue. Emergency responders discovered him inside a vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death occurred during a period marked by heightened gun violence in the city.
