In the early morning hours of July 7, 2022, the quiet of a St. Louis neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a call, police discovered the body of 60-year-old Tadaro Edward Taylor, a male resident of the area, in the hallway of a two-story brick fourplex on Marcus Avenue. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbors reported hearing as many as seven shots fired at approximately 1 a.m., piercing the stillness of the night. Homicide detectives were soon on the scene, beginning the arduous process of piecing together the events that led to Taylor's violent death.
