On April 6, 2021, Mateo Jovani Hernandéz, a 21-year-old Hispanic male, was found fatally shot inside his vehicle in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Dallas police responded to a welfare check at around 4:40 p.m. and discovered Hernandéz unresponsive in the driver's seat with a single gunshot wound to his upper chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
