Royal Gordon, an 8-month-old infant, tragically died on April 9, 2021, in Houston, Texas. The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen, which was reportedly inflicted accidentally by his 3-year-old brother inside their family's apartment. At the time of the shooting, there were four adults present in the apartment, but none of them immediately called 911.
Instead, two adults drove Royal to Memorial Hermann Hospital Memorial City, where he was pronounced dead. The gun used in the shooting was later found in the car used to transport Royal to the hospital.

Although no criminal charges were filed immediately, the case was referred to the Harris County District Attorney's Office for further review.
