On August 29, 2021, Damien Damon Wiley, a 35-year-old man from Cooper, Texas, was fatally shot at the Cooper Mart in the 800 block of West Dallas Street. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Wiley dead and another man, Saquan Harrion-Reynolds, 21, injured. Harrion-Reynolds was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital in stable condition.
