Jordan E. Taynor, a 33-year-old Caucasian male, was fatally assaulted on March 19, 2016, at the Central West End MetroLink platform in St. Louis, Missouri. An argument with an unknown man escalated, resulting in the assailant punching Taynor. The force of the blow caused him to fall and strike his head on the concrete platform. He was transported to a local hospital and spent two weeks on life support before succumbing to his injuries on April 1, 2016.
Originally from Carlinville, Illinois, Taynor's family filed a missing person's report after he failed to make his daily call to his father. Investigators were then able to locate him at the hospital. Surveillance video from the MetroLink platform captured the assault, showing a man striking Taynor in the head. Despite this evidence, no suspects have been arrested in connection with his death.
Witnesses described the suspect as a Black male with a light complexion and medium-length dreadlocks. He was estimated to be between 5'8' and 5'10' tall and was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, dark pants, and dark shoes. One witness noted a distinguishing mark on the suspect's face, possibly a birthmark or a tattoo, near or under one of his eyes. The man was last seen walking away from the scene toward a bus depot. The investigation into the death of Jordan E. Taynor remains open as police continue to seek leads.
