Anthony Moses Tony Aponte, a 17-year-old Hispanic male, tragically passed away on January 24, 2022, in North Richland Hills, Texas. He was found at his home on Gibbons Drive with gunshot wounds, and despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His older brother, 19-year-old Isaiah Manuel Aponte, was also shot and later succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
Authorities quickly identified Jesse Lyn Williams as a person of interest in the case.
Williams, who was familiar with the victims, became the primary suspect after a brief vehicle and foot chase that led to his arrest on capital murder charges. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond while the investigation continues.
The motive behind the tragic incident remains under investigation, and the North Richland Hills Police Department has stated that they believe this to be an isolated case. The community continues to mourn the loss of the young brothers, and the legal proceedings against Williams are ongoing.
