Dajuan Lester Townes, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 7, 2022, in Brackettville, Texas. Townes, a soldier in the Texas Army National Guard, was involved in an accidental shooting incident while supporting "Operation Lone Star," a border protection program initiated by Governor Greg Abbott.
