On March 3, 2022, Javier Cruz, a 25-year-old Mexican citizen from Alamo, Texas, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Sioux Road in rural Alamo. According to witnesses, the shooting followed an argument between Cruz and Eric Gonzalo Hernandez, a 39-year-old man from Alamo. Hernandez allegedly shot Cruz and then fled the scene. The Mission Police Department arrested Hernandez the following day.
