Dennis Allen Crawford Jr., a 57-year-old man from Ingram, Texas, tragically passed away on April 3, 2022. Crawford was shot with one bullet at close range and pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Beaver Road in Ingram, Texas, around noon on that Sunday.
An argument between Crawford and his roommate, Brad Rick Way, 52, escalated into a physical fight, leading to the shooting. Officials believe alcohol was involved in the conflict. Way was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. The Texas Rangers assisted with the investigation and forensic processing of the scene.
Sheriff Larry Leitha expressed sadness over the senseless loss of life and noted that disagreements often escalate unnecessarily. He emphasized that either party could have walked away to defuse the situation before it turned lethal. The investigation remains ongoing, and Way is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
