On August 15, 2016, Alexander J. Thomas, age 31, was fatally shot in St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred late at night in a part of the city that has seen frequent violent crime. Police were called to the scene after reports of gunfire and found Thomas lying unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds.
