Dyawn Thomas, a 38-year-old male, was tragically shot to death on October 8, 2022, at Main Street Garden Park in Dallas, Texas. According to police reports, Thomas was involved in an argument with two men before he was shot. Officers found him lying in the park with multiple gunshot wounds and performed CPR before he was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The investigation revealed that the argument escalated into a physical confrontation, which led to one of the suspects pulling out a gun and shooting Thomas. The suspects fled the scene with a group of people, including children. Surveillance footage showed one of the suspects wearing a mask and another holding a skateboard as they left the park.

In March 2023, Dallas police arrested 18-year-old Maleek Wright for Thomas' murder. Wright was identified as one of the suspects involved in the argument and was charged with murder. He is currently in the Dallas County Jail awaiting trial. The police are still searching for the second suspect, who is described as a Black male wearing a mask and a purple shirt.
