Kenneth Scott Bruce, aged 48, was an assistant principal at Campbell County High School in Jacksboro, Tennessee. On November 8, 2005, Bruce was fatally shot in the chest by a student named Kenneth Bartley Jr., who was 15 years old at the time. Bruce was transported to a nearby hospital in LaFollette but was pronounced dead from his injuries.
