Kaitlyn Marie Vitt Wilchenski, a 25-year-old Caucasian woman, was found deceased in her apartment at the Wellington Farms Apartments on Big Station Camp Boulevard on February 19, 2014. Authorities with the Gallatin Police Department discovered Kaitlyn inside her residence, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds
to the head. Alongside her was her 28-year-old husband, Christopher Wilchenski, who was also deceased from a single gunshot wound. Investigators quickly determined the incident to be a murder-suicide, concluding that Christopher had shot and killed his wife before turning the weapon on himself. A large caliber handgun was recovered from the scene of the tragic event.
