In the quiet community of Byrdstown, Tennessee, Danny Dwight Dowdy, a 58-year-old White male, was a familiar figure, known as a longtime businessman and active farmer. His life, however, came to a tragic and violent end on July 30, 2014, not in his hometown, but just across the state line at his family-owned business, the Sugar Shack, in Static, Tennessee.
