In the fall of 2014, the community of Portland, Tennessee, was shaken by the tragic death of Tammy Hodges, a 36-year-old woman. Her life was abruptly ended on October 14, 2014, in a devastating act of domestic violence. Tammy, a Caucasian female, had been married to 47-year-old Richard Hinsley since July of that year, but the relationship had quickly soured, leading to their estrangement.
