Crystal Shad Herbert-Weathers, a 29-year-old woman from Covington, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on August 26, 2015. She was fatally shot by her boyfriend, Windal Edwards, 33, in front of her three children. The incident occurred in their shared home, where Edwards allegedly shot Herbert-Weathers multiple times after an altercation. Edwards then pointed a gun at one of Herbert-Weathers' children before fleeing the scene. However, he was later arrested at a relative's home in Brighton.
