Maykayla Dyer, an 8-year-old girl from White Pine, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on October 3, 2015. She was fatally shot by her 11-year-old neighbor, Benjamin Nicolas Tiller, who used his father's 12-gauge shotgun. The incident occurred after Maykayla refused to let Tiller play with her puppy. According to court documents, Tiller pointed the shotgun through a window and fired at Maykayla, hitting her just above the heart. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
