On a summer evening in Memphis, Tennessee, the sounds of a basketball game at the Raleigh Community Center were tragically interrupted by gunfire. It was July 18, 2016, a day that would end in the death of 21-year-old Justin Tyler Davis, a Black/African American male. While on the basketball court, Davis was struck in the abdomen by a stray bullet. He was privately rushed to Methodist North Hospital, but the single gunshot wound proved to be fatal.
