On a Halloween night in 2016, Gary Wade Lackey Jr., a 46-year-old White male, was found dead in the front yard of a home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. The Wilson County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene in the 300 block of Benders Ferry Road after receiving several 911 calls. Lackey, a decorated Persian Gulf War veteran, had been fatally shot.
