The investigation into Ramey's death led authorities to Ollie Lynch. It was revealed that Lynch was involved in a dispute with Ramey during the dice game. Marvell T.
Williams Jr., an accomplice of Lynch, testified that Lynch had instructed him to pick him up and bring a gun. Williams then drove Lynch to the 4400 block of Red Bud, where Lynch shot and killed Ramey. This testimony was part of a plea deal that resulted in a 15-year prison sentence for Williams for his role in the killing.
Ollie Lynch was ultimately convicted of first-degree murder for the death of Jeramee Ramey. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors had initially sought the death penalty against Lynch but later withdrew this motion. Lynch was also a suspect in the separate shooting deaths of 17-year-old Jalen Woods and 25-year-old Amber Green, which occurred in June 2017. However, he was acquitted of the charges related to their deaths and the injuries of four other individuals in that incident. Lynch's girlfriend, Makala Mayo, was sentenced to nine years in prison for her involvement in Green's death.
