Eric Burchfield, a 28-year-old man from Hixson, TN, tragically died on July 21, 2017, from a gunshot wound to the back. He was found lying face up under a sign at the Kangaroo Express gas station on Hixson Pike. The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m., and a spent .380 caliber casing was found at the scene. Eric was a graduate of Red Bank High School and Chattanooga State Community College, and he was well-known for his kind-hearted nature and infectious smile.
