In the autumn of 2018, the quiet grounds of Beech Bend Park in Decaturville, Tennessee, became the scene of a fatal encounter for Jerrel Barber, a 57-year-old man who had been residing at the campground for a couple of weeks. He had reportedly been involved in a dispute with another couple at the campground prior to the deadly incident.
That day, a man named Jimmy Kevin Medlin, who was at the park
selling firewood, approached Barber. The interaction between the two men turned heated, and Medlin ultimately shot Barber multiple times.
