On a Thursday evening in Madison County, Tennessee, the life of 19-year-old Deon Rutherford was tragically cut short. On November 1, 2018, Rutherford, a Black male, was brought to the emergency room of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital shortly after 10:15 p.m. with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
