In the rural landscape of northern Wayne County, Tennessee, a domestic dispute on a January night in 2019 escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 48-year-old James John Donahue. On the evening of January 22nd, at his residence on Suckstem Branch Road in Waynesboro, Donahue was shot and killed. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office responded to a call regarding the shooting shortly before 10 p.m.
and upon their arrival, they discovered Donahue deceased from a single gunshot wound.
The investigation into the shooting quickly identified Donahue's wife, Elise Renee Mosca, as the individual responsible. Investigators determined that the fatal shot was fired during the course of a domestic incident between the couple. Subsequently, Mosca was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder in connection with her husband's death. She was booked into the Wayne County jail and held without bond.
As the legal proceedings unfolded, the case against Elise Renee Mosca moved through the justice system. Ultimately, she entered a plea of guilty to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter. As a result of her plea, Mosca was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison for the death of her husband, James John Donahue.
