Melvin L. Blackmon, age 41, was shot and killed on October 16, 2017, in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred around 10:09 p.m. in the 8300 block of Lydia Avenue. According to reports, a resident heard gunshots and upon leaving their residence, they found Blackmon lying on the side of the street. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and no suspects were immediately identified by authorities.
