Jimmy Doc Gibson, a 59-year-old man from Monterey, Tennessee, was tragically shot and killed on February 20, 2021, at a county-owned waste management facility on Old Walton Road in Monterey. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and determined the incident to be a homicide. A person of interest was questioned during the investigation, which was also assisted by the Tennessee Highway Patrol Critical Incident Response Team.
