On a summer evening in Memphis, Tennessee, the life of 27-year-old Jeremy Smith, an African American male, was tragically cut short. On June 5, 2022, officers from the Memphis Police Department responded to a shooting at an apartment on North Claybrook Street. Inside, they discovered Smith on the floor, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
