Dwight Payne, a 68-year-old African American man from Memphis, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on November 17, 2022. Payne was fatally shot in the Highland Heights neighborhood on the 3100 block of Faxon. According to witnesses, Payne was standing with a woman when a gunman approached and shot him at point-blank range. The witness recounted that the attacker fired another round before fleeing the scene. Payne was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at Regional One Hospital.
