In the Highland Heights neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, a late autumn evening turned tragic for 68-year-old Dwight Payne. On November 17, 2022, the African American man's life was abruptly ended by a senseless act of gun violence. Payne was in the company of a woman on the 3100 block of Faxon when the fatal encounter occurred.
