On November 9, 1903, Isaac Johnston, a 45-year-old male police officer of unspecified ethnicity, was ambushed and shot while patrolling his beat in Donora Borough, Pennsylvania. As he approached the area known as Third Street Hollow, near Thompson Hollow, he was shot in the abdomen without warning by an individual among a large group standing by the roadside.
