Correctional Officer Robert F. Miller, a senior officer at the United States Penitentiary in Lewisburg, tragically lost his life on October 12, 1987, in Danville, Pennsylvania. Officer Miller was shot and killed while escorting an inmate from Geisinger Medical Center to a transport vehicle. The incident occurred when two men, Harold S.
