Richard Jinkins, aged 30, was shot and killed on November 21, 2012, near Interstate 94 in Minneapolis. Jinkins had been with three others, including Jermaine Harris, when they parked by the freeway wall. After an altercation involving Harris, Jinkins was fatally shot when he exited the vehicle. Harris was charged twice for the murder, but both trials ended in a hung jury due to conflicting witness statements and a lack of forensic evidence.
