In the late hours of a cold Saturday in Minneapolis, on March 8, 2014, police were called to a home in the 1800 block of Hillside Avenue North. There, in the entryway of his own residence, they discovered 35-year-old Jerome Donell Turner, an African-American male, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
