Andrea Umphrey, a 35-year-old woman from Sheraden, Allegheny, PA, tragically lost her life on April 18, 2004. Umphrey's ex-boyfriend, Alvin Starks, 30, abducted her and their 9-month-old daughter, Aaliyah, during a church service. Starks held Umphrey at gunpoint and led police on a high-speed chase that spanned nearly 50 miles. During the pursuit, Umphrey was shot and later pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital.
