On November 24, 2004, 33-year-old Sheryl Swartz-Burkhart was found deceased in her Shaler Township residence in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Born on October 30, 1971, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Darlene Diebold McIntosh and the late Franklin Swartz. Sheryl was discovered alongside her estranged husband, 46-year-old Barry Burkhart; both had sustained gunshot wounds to the head, and a firearm was located in the bedroom.
