In the summer of 2013, the life of a young Chester man was abruptly cut short, leaving a family in mourning and a community searching for answers. Karone York, a 20-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on June 11, 2013. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Madison Street in what became the city's seventh homicide of the year. Known for his outgoing and joking nature, Karone was the father of a 2-year-old daughter.
