Timothy Davison, a 28-year-old male, tragically lost his life on January 4, 2014, in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. Davison was driving on Interstate 81 when he was shot and killed by another driver. The incident was initially believed to be a case of road rage, but further investigation revealed that the attack was likely intended for someone else.
The suspect, John Wayne Strawser, a 41-year-old male from West Virginia, was charged with first-degree murder in connection with Davison's
death. Police believe that Strawser mistook Davison's vehicle for another car he was targeting. On the night of the incident, Davison called 911 and reported being chased by another driver who was shooting at him. The suspect rammed his truck into Davison's car and then exited his vehicle to fire several shots at him.
Strawser was arrested and charged over a year later, on April 20, 2015, after police received a tip from a couple who knew him. The couple provided crucial information that led to Strawser's arrest. During the investigation, police gathered evidence including PennDOT video footage, a spent .44 shell casing, and a Ford Ranger emblem found at the scene. Strawser was already facing charges in another murder case in West Virginia at the time of his arrest.
In August 2019, Strawser was found guilty of first-degree murder in Davison's death and was sentenced to life in prison. Davison's family expressed relief and gratitude for the verdict, hoping to find closure and move forward with their lives.
