In the early morning hours of June 2, 2015, violence shattered the quiet of a street in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood. Just after 1 a.m., Sha'quan Johnson, a 20-year-old Black male, was shot multiple times in the 7900 block of Inglenook Place. The gunshots prompted a police response, who found Johnson with wounds to his torso and leg. He was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for medical intervention. Despite undergoing surgery, Johnson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
