Christopher G. Feucht, a 54-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity from North East, Pennsylvania, tragically died on July 23, 2017. His death was part of a double murder-suicide incident that also claimed the life of Teresa A. Maroglio, 54, and the perpetrator, James L. Hemmis Jr., 53.
On the evening of July 22, 2017, neighbors reported hearing gunshots, which they initially thought were fireworks or target practice.
However, the next morning, Feucht's landlord discovered the bodies of Feucht and Maroglio on Feucht's patio and contacted the authorities. Investigators determined that Hemmis, who lived next door to Feucht, had taken a gun from his home, walked across the driveway, and opened fire on the victims while they were sitting on Feucht's patio. Hemmis then shot himself in the head.
The Erie County Coroner's Office ruled the incident a double murder-suicide, but no motive was established. State police confirmed that there were "problems" in the relationship between Hemmis and Maroglio, but no further details were provided.
