Brian R. Lupo, a 36-year-old male of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, tragically died on October 2, 2017, from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound at the Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg. Lupo, a 10-year veteran of the naval police force and a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, was found shot in police headquarters shortly after reporting for duty. He was also a 2008 Iraqi Freedom veteran.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., and Lupo was airlifted to Hershey Medical Center
