On July 29, 2010, the life of Brandon Barbour, a 23-year-old Black male, was cut short in a violent incident in Detroit, Michigan. He was discovered at 8536 Linwood Street, a commercial corridor on the city's west side known for its local businesses and high traffic. The location, situated near the intersection of Linwood and Blaine Street, was the site where police responded to reports of trouble, ultimately finding the young man who had become another casualty of the city's gun violence.
