Randy Maultsby, a 23-year-old male from Chester, Pennsylvania, tragically lost his life on February 22, 2020. Kyree Washington, 22, was found guilty of first-degree murder, two counts each of attempted murder and aggravated assault, five counts of conspiracy, and firearms offenses. Washington was sentenced to life in prison plus 40-80 years. Jabree Robertson, who was driving the Kia, was also convicted and is currently serving a life sentence plus 40-80 years. A third defendant, Darin Shelton, 36, is scheduled for trial in March. Shelton admitted to being in the passenger seat of the Kia but claimed that Robertson and Washington were the shooters.
The case involved extensive evidence, including 23 fired casings recovered from the scene, eight of which were 9 mm and the rest .45 caliber. The prosecution presented video footage from a surveillance camera and testimonies from witnesses, including the driver of the Pontiac, who was also struck by a bullet. The jury deliberated for over 5½ hours before delivering the guilty verdict.
