Diana Davis, a 62-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on October 19, 2020, in Chester, Pennsylvania. She was driving near 9th Street and Central Avenue when she was struck by gunfire. Davis was hit by at least one bullet in the side, causing her vehicle to crash into a telephone pole. Despite immediate medical attention and being transported to Crozer Chester Medical Center, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m., and police found numerous shell
casings at the scene. Another vehicle, occupied by two women and a child, was also struck by gunfire but fortunately, no one in that vehicle was injured. Surveillance footage from a nearby store captured Davis' car crashing after the shooting. Police revealed that a light silver Chevy Impala was involved in the incident, but no arrests have been made.
Davis was an innocent bystander and a school bus driver for the Chester Upland School District. Her death marked the 30th homicide in Chester for the year 2020, a significant increase compared to the previous year. The investigation into her death is ongoing, and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
