On March 23, 2021, 25-year-old Casey Nadolny, a male from Titusville, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot in Millcreek Township, Erie. The incident was the tragic culmination of a robbery plot orchestrated by two individuals he knew. The series of events leading to his death began after Nadolny, known to carry significant amounts of cash, made plans with Lexus M. Conner.
Conner drove from Erie to Titusville to pick up Nadolny and then returned with him to the Millcreek Mall. Waiting in the sport-utility vehicle was her paramour, 21-year-old Regginal D. Welch III, also known as 'Dollaz'. As Nadolny turned around in the vehicle, surprised by Welch's presence, he was shot five times. After being shot, Nadolny fell out of the SUV. He was transported to UPMC Hamot, where he was pronounced dead. The Erie County Coroner's Office later ruled his death a homicide.
An investigation into the shooting revealed what prosecutors described as a 'love square,' given the complex relationships between those involved. Both Welch and Conner were subsequently arrested and faced charges. Welch was charged with first- and second-degree murder, robbery, and aggravated assault. Conner faced charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and robbery for her role in the fatal scheme.
Following a trial, Regginal D. Welch III was convicted on all charges and received a sentence of life in prison. Lexus M. Conner was held in the Erie County Prison without bond awaiting the resolution of her charges.
