On an autumn morning, the quiet of a suburban transit stop was broken by a grim discovery. A Collingdale police officer on patrol noticed a man lying on the ground inside the SEPTA trolley stop on MacDade Boulevard. The man, 54-year-old Dwayne Williams, was unresponsive. First responders were called to the scene, but it was too late; Williams was pronounced dead. An examination by the medical examiner would later reveal that he had died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
